Subject: Request for Intervention to Expedite the Release of the 4th Installment of the Post-Matric Scholarship for Mizoram Students

Respected Sir,

Greetings from the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) General Headquarters, Aizawl.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to the welfare of students in Mizoram. Your consistent attention to issues affecting Mizo students is deeply appreciated, and we remain thankful for the efforts you have made in addressing our concerns in the past.

We respectfully seek your kind intervention regarding a matter of growing concern. The 4th and final installment of the Post-Matric (Tribal) Scholarship for the academic year 2023–2024 has yet to be disbursed to thousands of eligible students from Mizoram. As of today, approximately 4,000 students remain unpaid, which has caused significant hardship, particularly among those pursuing technical and professional courses outside the state.

It is worth noting that students from other North Eastern states have already received their full scholarship installments, placing Mizo students at a serious disadvantage. This delay is not only unfair but is also affecting their academic focus and financial stability, especially those studying in high-cost urban institutions.

Despite our continuous efforts to address this issue through the proper channels, no meaningful progress has been made. We present the following data for your kind consideration:
1. Total number of scholarship applicants from Mizoram: 31,685
2. Number of students who have received the scholarship: 26,909
3. Number of students yet to receive the final installment: 4,027

In light of these concerns, we earnestly request your esteemed office to kindly urge the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to immediately release the remaining funds for Mizoram under the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme.

We remain hopeful of your timely and compassionate intervention in this urgent matter.

Yours faithfully,

(CHINKHANMANGA THOMTE)
General Secretary
